4.1 Quotes

All quotes provided by Mac-Tek Telecom — whether submitted via our website form, by phone, by email, or in person — are:
Obligation-free unless otherwise stated in writing.
Valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless a different validity period is specified on the quote.
Subject to change if the scope of work, site conditions, or material costs change after the quote is issued.

4.2 Acceptance of a Quote

A quote is accepted when you provide written or verbal confirmation to proceed, or when you sign a service agreement or work order. Acceptance constitutes a binding agreement between you and Mac-Tek Telecom for the supply of the specified services on the terms set out in the quote and these Terms.

4.3 Variations

Any changes to the agreed scope of work requested after acceptance must be agreed in writing before additional work commences. Variations may affect the quoted price and timeline.
 
 

5. Supply of Services

5.1 Service Standards

Mac-Tek Telecom will perform all services:
With reasonable care and skill, in accordance with applicable Australian standards and industry best practices.
Using suitably qualified and licensed technicians.
In compliance with all applicable laws, including the Security Industry Act 1997 (NSW) and relevant Australian Standards.

5.2 Access to Premises

You agree to provide Mac-Tek Telecom’s technicians with safe and reasonable access to your premises at the agreed time to carry out the work. If access is not available at the scheduled time, we reserve the right to charge a call-out fee for the aborted visit.

5.3 Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:
Ensuring that all necessary consents, approvals, or permits required for the installation work have been obtained prior to commencement (e.g. strata approval, landlord consent, council permits where applicable).
Providing accurate information about your property and requirements.
Ensuring the work area is safe and accessible for our technicians.
Mac-Tek Telecom is not liable for delays or additional costs arising from your failure to meet these responsibilities.

5.4 Completion and Handover

Upon completion of the installation, our technician will demonstrate the operation of the installed system and provide you with any relevant documentation, user guides, or warranty information. You are responsible for ensuring that all relevant users of the system are trained in its operation.
 
 

6. Pricing and Payment

6.1 Prices

All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated. Prices are based on the scope of work described in the quote and may be subject to change if the scope changes.

6.2 Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
A deposit may be required prior to commencement of work, as specified in the quote.
The balance of the invoice is due within 14 days of the date of the invoice.
For larger commercial projects, staged payment milestones may be agreed in writing.

6.3 Late Payment

If payment is not received by the due date, Mac-Tek Telecom reserves the right to:
Charge interest on overdue amounts at a rate of 2% per month (or part thereof) calculated from the due date.
Suspend or withhold further services until outstanding amounts are paid.
Recover reasonable costs of debt collection, including legal fees, if the debt is referred for collection.

6.4 Ownership of Goods

Title to any equipment or materials supplied by Mac-Tek Telecom does not pass to you until full payment has been received. Until title passes, you must not sell, encumber, or otherwise deal with the goods.
 
 

7. Warranties and Guarantees

7.1 Workmanship Warranty

Mac-Tek Telecom warrants that all installation work will be free from defects in workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of completion, subject to the exclusions below.

7.2 Equipment and Product Warranties

Equipment and products supplied by Mac-Tek Telecom are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms. We will assist you in making a warranty claim with the manufacturer where applicable.

7.3 Warranty Exclusions

The workmanship warranty does not cover:
Damage caused by misuse, accident, unauthorised modification, or tampering.
Damage caused by power surges, lightning, flooding, or other events outside our control.
Normal wear and tear.
Issues arising from changes made to the system by parties other than Mac-Tek Telecom after installation.
Consumable items such as batteries.

7.4 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (including the Australian Consumer Law) that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by that legislation.
 
 

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Mac-Tek Telecom’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the supply of services is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific services giving rise to the claim.
Mac-Tek Telecom is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business opportunity, or damage to reputation, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.
Mac-Tek Telecom is not responsible for the performance or reliability of any third-party equipment, software, or services that interact with the systems we install.
 
 

9. Cancellations and Rescheduling

9.1 Cancellation by You

If you wish to cancel a confirmed booking or service engagement:
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment will incur no cancellation fee.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the call-out fee or a reasonable portion of the quoted work, to cover costs already incurred.

9.2 Cancellation by Mac-Tek Telecom

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances, including technician illness, equipment availability, or unsafe site conditions. We will provide as much notice as possible and will offer an alternative appointment at no additional cost.
 
 

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this Website — including text, images, logos, graphics, and design — is the property of Mac-Tek Telecom Pty Ltd or its licensors and is protected by Australian and international copyright and intellectual property laws.
