Blacktown is the commercial heart of Western Sydney: a busy CBD around Westpoint and the railway station, Blacktown Hospital and its surrounding medical precinct, the Arndell Park and Huntingwood industrial estates along the M4 and M7, and thousands of family homes from Kings Park and Marayong through to the new estates at Schofields and Marsden Park. Mac-Tek Telecom has been installing security and telecommunications systems across the Blacktown local government area since 2013, and our technicians know the area’s buildings, its traffic and its security issues first-hand.
What we install in Blacktown
- CCTV camera systems for homes, shops, medical centres and warehouses, including number plate recognition for car parks and loading docks.
- Access control with card, PIN and biometric readers for offices, industrial units and multi-tenant buildings.
- Alarm and intercom systems, monitored or self-monitored, with video intercoms for homes and apartment blocks.
- Optic fibre backbones for schools, campuses and industrial sites.
- PABX and VoIP phone systems for Blacktown CBD offices and professional practices.
- Structured cabling, racks and AV for office and warehouse fit-outs.
Local knowledge that matters
Blacktown’s mix of property types calls for different approaches. Older brick and fibro homes in Lalor Park and Seven Hills usually have easy roof access and suit wired cameras and alarms. High-density apartments near the station need strata-approved intercom and access systems. Warehouses in Arndell Park need long cable runs, elevated mounting and cameras that can read a number plate at a gate in poor light. We assess every property before we quote, so the system fits the building rather than a standard package.

Building New in Blacktown’s North-West? Plan Security Before the Plasterboard
Blacktown City is the most populous local government area in New South Wales, and much of its recent growth has been in new estates: the North West Growth Area suburbs of Marsden Park, Schofields, Riverstone and Vineyard, and the newer north-eastern suburbs such as The Ponds, Kellyville Ridge and Stanhope Gardens. If you are building or have just moved in, timing matters more than which camera brand you choose.
While the house is being built
- Run data cable before the walls are lined. A cable from each planned camera position, the front door and the garage back to one central point costs far less at frame stage than retrofitting later, and avoids conduit on a brand-new façade.
- Pick the equipment spot early. A linen or storage cupboard near where the internet connection enters the house works well; ask for a power point there.
- Read the builder’s inclusions closely. If a security or data package is offered, find out exactly what is supplied and where each cable ends, so you do not pay twice.
- Ask about site access. Some builders let owners bring in their own trades before handover and some do not, so raise it before the frame goes up.
After handover
Finished walls are not a problem in most single-storey homes, where cable can be run through the roof space and down wall cavities. Double-storey homes with a concrete slab between floors take more planning, and sometimes a neat, painted external conduit is the practical answer for the lower-level cameras. We will show you the options on site.
Showrooms and trade units at Marsden Park
The Sydney Business Park on Richmond Road, home to IKEA, Costco and Bunnings, continues to add showroom and trade-service units. A new tenancy there generally needs access control on staff and roller doors, cameras across the showroom floor and car park, and data and phone cabling in place before the doors open, which is easiest to coordinate alongside the shop fit-out.
Growth-area suburbs also covered from this page: Riverstone, Vineyard, Colebee, Tallawong, The Ponds, Kellyville Ridge, Stanhope Gardens, Parklea and Acacia Gardens.
Getting a quote
For a home under construction, we can start from your floor plan and suggest camera, intercom and data points before pricing. For an established home or business, we quote after a site assessment.
Common security problems in Blacktown
Break-ins through rear yards and side gates on homes where the backyard is hidden from the street.
Theft from warehouses and loading docks in Arndell Park and Huntingwood, often after hours.
Keys shared between staff, contractors and cleaners with no record of who opened which door.
Shops and medical centres near the CBD needing evidence for incidents and insurance claims.
Old phone contracts and unlabelled cabling holding back growing offices.
